Steve's Poetry

ALL THAT SUFFERS

All our thoughts are never told And all that glitters is not gold All that?s offered can?t be had And all that suffers is not bad

Time will patch your aching heart ?Though you and he are far apart And when you feel how life?s undone Know you will again be as one In worlds to come

And when you feel the hurt and fear Just know that he is ever near And not retreat from tears and pain But walk out, walk out in the rain

Hearts may ache and cry for peace And souls? torment ? can it ever cease? But time will ease, new days are born So don?t forget to look for joys, And again, find new dawn

For all that suffers is not bad

And may the future once more bring fresh drops of dew upon the morning rose, for you.

May God bless you.

DO YOU REMEMBER?

Do You Remember? Do You Recall? Or do I simply imagine it all?

Sometimes I think I remember, At times, I almost know And wonder too, if you recall That time so long ago.

Your eyes, that hair, reminds me That voice carries me back To a time within the shadows Way back along the track

Tall ships, strong winds, war and peace and kings and queens Soft warm loving under cloudless summer skies It comes to me when I am lost, Lost deep within your eyes

I remember our love and my loss at our parting The void that was left at you no longer there And I wondered ? my heart ? would it ever recover? With you not around and no-one to share

And I?d wondered at times ? was I going quite mad? With wishing and wanting and loving of you Or, if, like a dream half-remembered on waking Did I remember? Could it be true?

That we could have loved then, in some other place? For it seems to me so when I look in your face And I see more than features, I see more than looks Could we be players from history books?

Feelings like these are not born in a day And a love of this kind will not just go away Do you remember? Do you recall Or do I just imagine it all?

Do I remember? Do I recall? Or am I just a half-crazy love-stricken fool?

TROUBLE WITH LETTERS

The trouble with writing a letter Which is overly long unwrit Is that all the news and gossip That you sought to put in it Comes rushing to the forefront To besiege your writers? mind All vying for position and not be left behind

All the random notes and comments That you feel should go to pen A pregnant wife, The Cat, The Dog, The kids and ?Sarah?s? men?.

Which should go first and Which should be last All manner of tales from the present and past

The only way out That I?ve come across yet Is to take all the words, write them down and vet Them for items of boredom and words out of song Or leave them all in and it?s ? Twelve pages long!

YOU

I know that you are the source of all your problems I know that you have the power to solve them as and when you decide the time is right for you. And I have great faith that you will do so.

If you want to.

I know how you are the creator of all your happiness And how you may not like to change that And how some things are sacred

Because you say so.

I understand how you are all you want to be and some of the things you don?t want to be And I know that you will change these things as and when you please

If you wish to.

I know you will restore balance and harmony when you can, if you can and where you can And I know this process, this living thing, will never be complete

Until you are ready for it to be so.

And may you walk hand in hand with your god in that place and in that time

I wish you so many things, I wish you a great love

But most of all, I wish you what you really want.

YOU
